The Netherlands The expression says: "God created land, apart from The Netherlands. That was created by the Dutch themselves!". The Maasvlakte is such a piece of land that was originally sea. It is now a large industrial area with good connections to the North Sea, the Dutch road network and the Dutch railways. It is located at the end of the "harbour line" which runs some 50km from Kijfhoek yard to the west. Container trains are stabled in the yard of the container terminal. Maasvlakte, 29/12/2001
