NS diesel trainset 163 (Plan X-v) in the station of Tiel. Within 3 weeks from
the date the photo was taken, these trainsets will be replaced by the somewhat
more modern Plan U class. 26/12/96.

Trainset NS 163 (Plan X-v) leaves the station of Tiel on its way to Arnhem.
Every hour the old and smelly diesel trainsets of this class move some
passengers over the Eastern Betuwelijn between Tiel and Arnhem. 26/12/96.

In a few weeks this picture will be history! The trainsets of this class are
being replaced by the somewhat newer diesels of the Plan U class. Don't be
fooled by the overhead wire over the train: the sign on the bottom left marks
the end of the overhead wire! Trainset 163 leaving Tiel on its way to Arnhem on 26 December 1996.
