NS CityPendel EMU 2012 is arriving on track 1 of Zandvoort station. The new buildings on the left are built on the area of the former rail freight yard. There is no longer a freight train station at Zandvoort, the only tracks remaining are the two along the passenger platform seen here. NS CityPendel EMU 2012 has just arrived on track 1 of Zandvoort station. During the winter, a single CityPendel is sufficent for the shuttle service Haarlem-Overveen-Zandvoort. The EMU runs every 30 minutes from either terminal, a run taking 10 minutes. So, there is 5 minutes for the passengers to get in and out, and for the driver to walk to the other cab. The railway line is two-track for its entire length, but this capacity is needed only in the summer. The red railings in the foreground belong to the side stairs from the platform bypassing the station building.
