Starting from the 2003 / 2004 timetable (which began at 14th December 2003), all trains in the 4800 trainseries (Amsterdam Centraal - Uitgeest) were supposed to consist of modernized Sprinters in the 2900 range. However, due to problems with the new Sprinters, old Sprinters (2800) as well as other types of EMUs sometimes can be seen in these trains as well.
