Four bridges side-by-side near Westervoort, over the IJssel river, east from Arnhem. Two of them are for rail traffic. On the bridge is coal train 48147 from Amsterdam to Duisburg, hauled by three 6400's. Westervoort, 4 December 2002. Submitted to ERPG 12 December 2002.

Nijmegen railway bridge
This bridge crosses the river Waal, the railway heads in the direction of Arnhem. On the left is the railway bridge. On the right is a 235 meters long pedestrian and bicycle bridge, called 'Snelbinder'. This bridge was attached to the excisting railway bridge in 2004.

In this picture it is clearly visible that the 'Snelbinder' is attached to the railway bridge. Note that the bicycle path passes through the building on the bridge head. This is a surviving part of the long gone old railway bridge.

Ende der Oberleitung an einer beweglichen Eisenbahnbrücke in Friesland. Auf dem beweglichen Teil gibt es keine Oberleitung. Die Züge fahren mit Schwung ohne Motorantrieb über die Brücke. Deshalb haben die Elektrotriebwagen der Serie Mat54 an beiden Enden je einen Stromabnehmer.

End of the catenary wire at a turnable bridge in Friesland. On the turnable part there is no catenary wire. The trains are rolling over the bridge without engine power. That is why de dmus class Mat54 have two current collectors at both ends.
