Farewell to Hofplein and Zoetermeer line On 2 June NS will cease operating the "Hofpleinlijn" The Hague Central - Rotterdam Hofplein and "Zoetermeerlijn" The Hague Central - Zoetermeer ring line. These lines will then be completely rebuilt for "Randstadrail" light rail operation. 25 May saw additional historic trains between The Hague and Rotterdam Hofplein, and all trains on the mentioned lines could be travelled for free. In the picture the "Blokkendoos" trainset at Rotterdam Hofplein. This trainset consists of the 3-car trainset Mat'24 of the National Railway Museum and single motor car "Jaap" of Hobbyclub Nedtrain Haarlem. On 3 November a special very long run was made with a 6-car historic "Blokkendoos"
trainset. On 2 November the train was formed in Goes(NL), where the picture was
taken. It consists of motor car "Jaap" of the Nedtrain Workshop Haarlem workgroup,
two coaches of museum railway SGB and the 3-car set of the National Railway Museum
in Utrecht.

On 25th May 2006, a farewell to the Hofplein and Zoetermeer line was organized. On the Hofplein line (between Den Haag Centraal and Rotterdam Hofplein), normal trains (train series 15600) were run with different kinds of normal NS rolling stock, while museum stock was used to run extra trains (series 28800). NVBS 75 festivities - The Netherlands On 14 and 15 October 2006 the Dutch railfan society NVBS celebrated its 75th birthday by running (mostly) stock from the 1930s and modern times between Arnhem, Dieren, Zutphen and Apeldoorn.
The 4-car Dutch historic museum trainset Mat'24 "Blokkendoos" consists of motor car
mC 9002 run by the hobby club of Nedtrain in Haarlem, and the 3-car set owned by
the National Railway Museum in Utrecht. Today the set operated on the electrified
leg Arnhem-Dieren-Zutphen.
