NVBS 75 festivities - The Netherlands On 14 and 15 October 2006 the Dutch railfan society NVBS celebrated its 75th birthday by running (mostly) stock from the 1930s and modern times between Arnhem, Dieren, Zutphen and Apeldoorn.
Although it was hoped that modern diesel locomotives (class 66, G2000) would operate
the hauled diesel trains on Loenen-Dieren, actually some older diesels of the VSM
were used. Here 2459 runs around its train in Loenen.

VSM/NS - The Netherlands The end-of-the-year special of the Dutch Railway and Tram Society (NVBS) ran over the harbour line in the port of Rotterdam this year. At the end of the line there was a photo opportunity. The train consisted of former NS diesel locomotives 2459 and 2530, a Wagons-Lits seating car, two Wagons-Lits dinner cars, a Mitropa restaurant car and a Mitropa sleeping car. These are now all owned by museum railway VSM. In the picture: Locomotive 2459 with the historic train. Maasvlakte, 29/12/2001
