52 8091-1 is a Deutsche Reichsbahn's Class 52 steam locomotive built in large numbers during the Second World War. It was the most produced type of the so-called Kriegslokomotiven or Kriegsloks (war locomotives). The Class 52 was a wartime development of the pre-war DRG Class 50, using fewer parts and less expensive materials to speed production. This specific machine was built in 1943 by Wiener Lokomotivfabrik A.G., Wien Floridsdorffor DRG as 52-7223, then for the DR with the same number. In 1963 it was reconstructed and in it returned in service under number 52 8091. In 1995 it was sold to the Brenzbahn Museum Verein purchased in Heidenheim and in 1998 to the Memorial AMC in Amsterdam. In 2004 Joined VSM.
