This is an Amsterdam Combino tram. Seen at Leidse Plein. This type of low-floor train has entrances only at the driver's door, and at the second-to-last door where there is a conductor. All the other doors have "barriers" prohibiting entry. The Combinos on line 5 don't have this feature and entry can be made at all the doors.
Two people are running to another tram as the one you see here is not the one they wanted. (C) 2004 by Josh Hanz (josh_hanz@hotmail.com) |

Here you can actually see the no-entry barriers. (C) 2004 by Josh Hanz (josh_hanz@hotmail.com) |

I was told "look out for the trams" but I figured, "That's silly, they're on rails." But I sure wasn't prepared for trolleys running everywhere and so many of them! And bicycles in swarms like a field full of bees. Photo by William Lindley, trainman@wlindley.com |
