NSB Class Di4, Number 4.651 arriving at Fauske with the day train from Bodo to Trondheim on the 8th March 2001.

NSB Class Di4, Number 4.654 just after arriving at Bodo with the sleeper train from Trondheim on the 27th February 2001. The wagon behind the loco contains two diesel generators for the electric train heating.

N-NOR 92 76 0304 654-5, Norske Tog Di 4 654 (Henschel/BBC 1981).
42 years later all Di 4 still carry their maroon livery of origin
with ivory stripes and the 1980s NSB logo on the front, despite
some rebuildings such as the installation of new LED headlights.
Since 2020 they are all in service for SJ Nord on Nordlandsbanen
passenger trains (but no logo of SJ Nord has been applied).
140 km/h, 2650 kW, 360 kN, Co'Co', diesel-electric with 3-phase
AC traction motors, EMD 16-654E4B engine (water-cooled, 2-stroke,
16 cylinders), generator for electric train power. In winter a
separate generator van is added.

The locomotive just brought the night train (line F7) from
Trondheim, arriving on time despite the delayed arrival due to
bus replacement service on the connecting train from Oslo.

to bring a day train back to Oslo.

Coupled in front of the F7 day train to Oslo. Locomotive-hauled
passenger trains to Bodø are planned to be replaced by
new Stadler units type 79B from 2028, at that point the 47 year
old locomotives and coaches of similar age will go out of
service.

Diesel locomotives Di4 654 and an unidentified Di3 arriving with the night
train from Trondheim in Fauske on 20/06/95. The long and heavy night trains
between Trondheim and Bodø(Nordlandsbane) have double traction of a Di3
and a Di4 with the Di4 always running first, because of the much more
comfortable cab for the driver.
