Fløibanen, Norway's only funicular, connects
the center of Bergen with the Fløien, one of the surrounding mountains. Length 844 m,
lower station at 18 m, upper station at 320 m, three intermediate stations. It was
built in 1918, the rolling stock was renewed in 1954, 1974 and 2002. The new cars
were designed by Espen Thorup and built by Gangloff (Switzerland). It's a tradition
to have one red and one blue car. This is No. 02 "Blåmann" at the lower station,
which is located in a tunnel.
