This is the view of another station higher in the mountains on a different line...possibly the one to Stavanger...which was pictured from the Flam Railway on the 22nd February 2006.

Signalling at the east end of Myrdal station. The line to the left goes downhill to Flåm; see the sign on the signal - no block system on that line. The line to the right continues towards Oslo (through a tunnel). 2005-08-14.

The station of Myrdal, Norway. The only entrance to the station goes over the track of the line to Flåm (in foreground), so when a train is waiting there, it is not possible to get in or out legally .... 2005-08-14.

Train composition indicator in Myrdal, Norway. These are all long distance trains of the line Oslo - Bergen (some of them not operating every day). Trains 605/606 are the night trains (with 6 sleeping-cars, bistro car and 3 passenger cars), trains 62/63 are operated with class 73 "Signatur" units, the rest of the daytrains with AB7/B7/BC7/FR7 cars. Trains 609/610 have a luggage car (the unique F7) for transport of bicycles for rent between Myrdal, Finse and Haugastøl. In addition there are the trains to/from Flåm (with class 17 and B3/BF3 cars) and local trains to/from Bergen (with class 69 units). 2005-08-14.
