Some active members of The Norwegian Railway Club (including the photographer) finished in April 1990 the preservation of the steam locomotive 30a.271 (2-C-0); built in 1914 and capable for 120 kilometres per hour. Her first real trip was hauling a special train from Oslo via Kongsvinger, Elverum, Hamar and back to Oslo. The picture was taken shortly after the discovery of some nasty sounds underneath the front of the locomotive. Fortunately, nothing serius had happened, and she is still hauling charter and tourist trains around in Norway. Finally, I'm of that opinion that pictures of steam locomotives always should be in black and white! Photo by Leif-Harald Ruud (leif-harald.ruud@skreditt.no; http://home.online.no/~leifharr)
