Norwegian_2-6-0_Loughborough_5.1974. UK heritage steam in the 1960s and 1970s. Early days on the preserved Great Central Railway (GCR), at Loughborough, in May 1974. Ex-Norwegian Railways 2-6-0 No.377 came to the GCR in March 1973 and hauled the first official train when service opened between Loughborough and Quorn. Named King Haakon VII the engine remained in use on the GCR until 1977 before a move to Bressingham Steam Museum in April 1981; it remains at Bressingham today. roger.griffiths@hotmail.com
