| As stated by Tobias B. Köhler, Bergen had a tramway system until 31.12.1965. The track section in Magnus Barfots gate (street) is a section of the original tram line no. 3, restored for the museum line. Only one original Bergen tram remains, no. 10 from the opening year of 1897. This year the construction of a brand new tram system in Bergen will commence! Surprise: It seems that Bergen once had a tram system.
I found this track in Magnus Barfots Gate. 2005-08-13.
Update: According to Stein S. Eriksen, this is newly laid track which will be part of the museum line 3 from Møhlenpris to Engen. Currently only 300 m of the line from the old tram depot at Møhlenpris are in operation, with Reko trams from Berlin operating on sundays. The last regular tram line closed in 1965, with no tracks remaining. |
