Beautifully restored Spanish steam locomotive "Mataro" (1848, type 1A1) with accompanying passenger coaches in original livery. The locomotive and coaches were on display for the celebrations of 150 years railways in Spain in October 1998.
For the display the beautiful Estacion de Franca of Barcelona was used. This terminal station has only limited normal traffic, as it has bad connections to the rest of the railway network. Most long-distance trains now depart from the Barcelona Sants station at the end of a long tunnel underneath the city.
