In 1972 to 76, 14 EU07-class electric locomotives were rebuilt to be able to reach the 160 km/h speed. The new class was repainted into orange and named EP08. Nowadays EP08 are used for secondary fast routes, since they have been replaced by new EP09 class in the beginning of the ninethies. The picture shows EP08-006 spotted at Poznan Glowny station (June 18, 1997). Few of these EPs are used there to pull trains on the line Poznan-Wroclaw, since maximum allowed speed was raised in 1997. So it needs to change the locomotive (from ordinary EU07) at Poznan.
