The Neisse river, which also is the border between Germany (to the left) and Poland (on the right). This photo was taken from the footbridge leading from the German town Ostritz to the railway station Krzewina Zgorzelecka (which serves Ostritz but is located on the other side of Neisse, that belongs to Poland since 1945). Just a few years ago, I would not have dared to stop on the middle of the bridge to take this picture, then you were still observed by armed border guards who probably would not have liked that.
