The tramways of Katowice operate on a 228-km-long network serving an
industrial area consisting of 15 different communities. Route
38 in Bytom is the last one in Poland to be served by a two-axle car (the 
short route requires only one car).

On 8 April 1997, route 38 was operated by "N" type car 954 (built in
1949), which is seen at the northern terminus Piekarska.
