CFU 29 normal gauge steam loco was built in 1952 at Resita Locomotive factory. It is part of a 7 locos batch built in 1952 and designed to carry out shunting tasks in romanian siderurgical factories. This type of loco is mainly a modification of CFU 25 steam loco, the main difference being the gauge which was widened form 948 to 1435 mm. Some technical data: Lenght: 10,2 metres; Empty weight 46 tons; Service weight: 58,5 tons; Boiler pressure: 14 kgf/square cm; Tractive power: 9200 kgf. The loco can reach a top speed of 40 km/h and is able to take curves with a minimal radius of 50 metres.
