Two way (road/rail) excavator, type ATLAS 1604, during track rebuilding work carried on the
romanian part of the IV Europeean railway corridor (Bucuresti Nord-Campina line).

General view of the rehabilitation works carried out on Bucuresti-Brasov railway line.
The picture was made from a train passing trough Chitila railway station. The reahabilitation
project included the upgrading of existing track, in order to make it suitable for high speeds
(160 Km/h) and also increasement of the line's traffic capacity. The line's capacity was increased
by building two new lines which will run parralel with the old rehabilitated ones.
The picture shows the actall dingging that was carried out in order to lay the new tracks. It also
shows some of the equipement used to carry out this work (including some road/rail excavators).
