This station was projected by the famous Serbian architect PETAR GACIC in the 30th years of the XX century. Almost 3/4 of all Serbian station buildings were projected by Petar Gacic. KURSUMLIJA is the second largest GACIC-station building in Serbia; the largest one is KRALJEVO, uder protection of the State as a monument. The second largest GACIC-station even built is ŠTIP in Macedonia. The stations KOCANI and OVCE POLE in Macedonia has the same style as the station building in Kursumlija. In Serbia there is no other station in this style. There are 4 different types of the GACIC-stations. Since the NATO-bombing of Serbia in 1999 there is no railway traffic between Kosanicka Raca and Priština!
