Regional train Oslo - Sarpsborg hauled by Swedish State Railways electric locomotive Rc 6 and consisting of swedish express coaches from the sixties. The picture is taken 06.04.2000 in the busy railway junction of Ski, 24 kilometres south of Oslo.

During the second half of the nineties, there was a serious lack of Emus for the commuter traffic around Oslo, and the Norwegian State Railways had to lease locomotives and coaches from the Swedish State Railways. These "blue expresses" became very popular among the commuters, as they could offer a comfort that had been unknown on the shorter distances around Oslo.
