19 June 2005, Södra Järnvägsbron, Stockholm, Sweden
An X1-type pendeltåg (commuter train) on the southbound track, on the way from Stockholm Central to Stockholm Södra.

Södra Järnvägsbron (southern railway bridge) is the name of the bridge most of the train is on, the road bridge behind it is Centralbron, and behind that is the tunnelbana (metro) bridge from Gamla Stan to Slussen. Under the railway tracks in the left part of the picture you can see an entrance to Gamla Stan tunnelbana station, indicated by the "T" sign.

The building on the left edge of the picture stands on the island of Gamla Stan (the Old Town of Stockholm), on the right we see a part of Södermalm. The well-known elevator Kristinahissen (with the two red flags on top) marks the location of the Slussen traffic complex.

The picture is taken from the island of Riddarholmen over the waters of Riddarfjärden, which is a part of Mälaren lake. Photo by Sven Manias (sven.manias@gmx.de)
