V2000 series sleeping car WLALm of TCDD (Turkish Railway) with running shield
"Istanbul - Thessaloniki - Istanbul" at the station Istanbul Sirkeci before
leaving for Thessaloniki as part of "Dostluk-Filia" express on 07/17/2006. This
was the second car of the train, a similar car we did travel in with the number
61 75 70-75 045-6 was the first car of this 5-car all-sleeper train. The total price
of a ticket on this train from Istanbul to Thessaloniki inclusive the through
ticket and sleeper supplement is 48 EUR. There is no dining car but sleeping car
attendands do serve light meals and drinks for reasonable prices. Buying drinks
at the Sirkeci station and filling the compartment refrigerator is an other option.

1st-class (RIC-X) Sleeping-car (WLAlm - K50) of TCDD, seen in the consist of E 11410 "Dogu-Ekspresi" (Istanbul Haydarpasa ---> Kars), while starting its long journey through Turkey (1,933 km).

On 1st July 2010 year , a famous train with name "Balkan Express" start a trial trip over several countries on the Balkan peninsula.The train will visit Bulgaria , Romania , Republic of Serbia , Hungary , Croatia , Bosnia and Hercegovina , Republic of Kosovo , Macedonia , Greece and came back to Turkey on 19th July.The initiative and enterprise is owned by Turkish TV and Radio TRT.net and supported by TCDD ( Turkiye Cumhuriyeti Devlet Demiryollari / Turkish Railways ). TRT will broadcasting a transmissions from railway stations in the towns , included in the trip every day from 12:00 and 13:00 PM.The composition includes a several cars - generator , sleeping cars , one second class salon car "Pullman" type , conference car and resaturant , all of them designed by TUVASAS.Back to the train is included a freight platform car with a Bus over it , who is owned by the TRT. The destinations of the train are following:
