The westbound Dogu Ekspressi (East Express) is held in the siding at Izzettin, Turkey as a heavy eastbound freight with a DE22 at each end enters the station. The whining of dynamic brakes on the heavy coal drag could be heard for several munites before the head end appeared from behind the hills.

Izzettin is at the bottom of a steep westbound ramp east of Kirikkale. The climb here challanging not only because of the grade, but also for numerous horseshoe curves.
