The system was open in 1939 (when the city was part of Romania). At 
present, the city has two trolleybus systems served by ChTU (routes 
#1, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8) and ChATP (routes #2 and #4).<br>
At present, fleet of ChTU is about 100 Skoda 14Tr, and three low-floor 
LAZ-E183 (supplied in 2006). ChATP has Skoda 9TrH, six YuMZ T1 
(#327-332), twelve LAZ-52522 (#2001,2002,2004-2012) and one Kiev-11U 
(#2003).
