The system was opened on December 24, 1975 with 20 Skoda 9Tr.
Historically the fleet was two-door Skoda 9Tr (#01-50) (supplied 
1974-1978), three-door Skoda 9TrH (#51-85) (supplied in 1979-1982), 
Skoda 14Tr (#86-115, supplied in 1984, 1987, 1988, 1989), YuMZ T1 
(#116-126, 128, supplied 1992-1994), YuMZ T2 (#127 and 129, supplied in 
1994), second hand from Czech cities Skoda 14Tr (#130,137-141, supplied 
in 1995,2003,2004) and Skoda 9TrH (#131-136, supplied in 1995), and last 
year three brand new LAZ-52522 (#142 and 143) and low floor LAZ-E183 
(#144).<br>
At present, on 11 routes there about 70 trolleybuses of all mentioned 
types.<br>
Unique trollebuses: #001 - the first trolleybus in the city and after 33 
years still in operation, #129 - the first propotype of two-axe 
trolleybus produced by YuMZ (has many differences from serial YuMZ T2), 
and #142 - the last trollleybus of LAZ-52522 produced by LAZ (then 
production of this model was stopped).
