Schlossbergbahn_Graz.jpg (82490 bytes)

Graz, Schlossberg-Märchenbahn. This is an old mining railway that has been converted for passenger operation; it goes half a kilometer into the tunnels, with various fairy tale scenes on the walls. Apparently a whole collection of mining railway rolling stock can be found somewhere in this tunnel system, but it is not public ... You can see here the triangle that is used to reverse the train. The pedestrian tunnel serves as an access to the lift up to the clocktower as well. 2003-01-11.
