Signs at the pedestrian tunnel show on which side of the line the trains for a certain direction can be found. While the outer platforms are further west, the platform between the southern old tracks and the northern new tracks can be recognized by the wooden handlebar. For the time the old tracks are still in service, it is accessed from the north side. Behind the southern temporary platform (by now used for all trains towards Cologne) is the new platform for the S-Bahn (urban trains), which will go into service on 15 December. The new platform is much better than the temporary one, with a higher level (for stepless entrance), better seats and some roofs (although they might be a bit small for all the passengers).
