On that night, this formation was to run on Estrella 370/1 "Costa Brava" to Barcelona and Cerbère.
Whereas re-liverying has doubtless improved carbody condition, not everyone may approve of the new livery...

Preferente-class (Compartment) car of RENFE (A10x-10022), seen in Zamora.
As some other Class 10000 cars, this one has Mieliech folding doors, while the majority of this fleet has Faiveley plugging-doors. Technically, this car closely derives from A10u Corail cars of SNCF.
Actually, this is the Zamora-Barcelona through car, which runs on a weekly basis, alone on Zamora-Medina del Campo. There, it is added to the Salamanca-Barcelona consist of the Estrella "Pío Baroja" (Barcelona<->Salamanca/Gijon/Bilbao/Hendaye).

A10x10001, formerly numbered AA10001, was the first built car of all the 10000 series. Here is fitted with GC trucks for 200 km/h, as testing vehicle for the future "ARCO" series.
