French-Spanish bridge over the Bidassoa river, which marks the border between both countries, as well as between the cities of Hendaye and Irun.
This "two-fold single-track" bridge accommodates RENFE and SNCF services, on distinct single-tracks: 1668mm-3kV DC for RENFE and 1435mm-1.5kV DC for SNCF. The smaller bridge in the foreground is that for Eusko Tren services (Hendaye-Lasarte). This pic is looking towards Irun, where one can spot the RENFE Workshops of Playa-Aundi/Plaiaundi. And this is the panorama which one can see from the French-Spanish bridge over the Bidassoa river, looking towards the Atlantic Ocean.
At this stage, the Bidassoa river widens into the Bahía de Chingudy-Txingudiko Badien-Baie de Chingoudy.

Madrid-Lerida HSL, Terrer Viaduct, seen looking towards Calatayud, Zaragoza and Lerida.
At this point, the Madrid-Lerida HSL leaves the Jalón Valley where it runs for a while to serve Calatayud. The viaduct runs up towards the Sierra de Solorio, one of the driest and most vacant areas in Spain, where this HSL culminates at around 1,200m. One can see Motorway A2 (Madrid-Zaragoza-Barcelona) in the foreground, and the Madrid-Zaragoza-Barcelona conventional line in the background, down the hill. January 2001. Construído en 1943, sustituye al original de la línea (1883), que el 21 de diciembre de 1942 se hundió al paso de un tren de mercancías.
