RENFE_Catalan_Cerbere_1.jpg (93256 bytes)

Rapide 72 "Catalan-Talgo" (Barcelona Sants-Montpelliers), seen entering the station of Cerbčre, shortly after going through the border in the Balîtres Tunnel, which one can see in the background.

On that day, this service was running some 5min ahead of schedule...

The track on the right is built to broad-gauge (1668mm-5ft6in), and is only used by those RENFE services which terminate at the border. Cross-border services such as the "Catalan-Talgo" conversely make use of standard-gauge tracks (1435mm-4ft8in) when passing through Cerbčre.

Cerbčre. 03rd July 2004.
