Great NorthEastern Railway ~ ‘bringing back the Golden Age of Railway Travel’

The 10.30 ex-King’s Cross ‘Northern Lights’ at King Edward Junction South, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England.

43xxx-gner-morpeth.jpg (70561 bytes)

Not-so-good Scenic shot of GNER Northern Lights HST running around the 30mph Morpeth bend north of Newcastle, with the overhead mast in the way of the power car. For some reason I have never been able to photograph the ‘deep blue’ GNER colour properly, it either reflects too much light or doesn’t show up properly! The GNER house colours look very impressive on the trains, it’s a pity that the photos never seem to be as good.

Class 43 Inter-CIty 125 locomotive seen at Newcastle in August. Personally I think the GNER livery suits this class
