The coupling unit on the freshly painted Class 170 Turbostar unti seen at Crewe Open Day 19 May 2000. This kind of detail often gets overlooked with our pre-occupation with paint schemes

Detail shot of Class 170 Turbostar unit at Crewe May 19th 2000. shows the abrasvie material used to increase grip I would imagine in cold weather people when operatives may have to use the step located at the front of the unit underneath the cab windows.

gb-CT170108+MML222009+CT170639.jpg (162157 bytes)

Central Trains class 170 Diesel Multiple Units and a Midland Mainline Class 222 DEMU 222009 at Nottingham Station. The front Central trains unit, looking very tacky, is 170108 while behind it is 170639. The livery on 170180 is not a standard one for Central Trains, and the colours lead me to suspect it was formerly operated by Midland Mainline, with their branding removed and Central Trains' added.
