bhev_l88.jpg (54229 bytes)

The photo was taken in 1996, at Tokol station on the Rackeve line. The locomotives was built in 1951 by Ganz, Budapest. Originally the BHEV used them for passenger service, but they were withdrawn because they had very high steps and only one door. Notice the different coupling devices used for the BHEV and the conventional railways. This is a unique moment, because the freight service on the BHEV lines is virtually disappeared.
