M1 Tunnel from Loreto to Pasteur
The M1 tunnel from Loreto to Pasteur, as seen from the Loreto station. Note, the overhead lighting in the tunnel is possible because of a lack of an overhead wire. This is common for stations from Sesto San Giovanni to Lotto-Fiera 2, but not from Lotto to Rho Fiera which has side-lighting like on the other lines. Addesso non c'e' un treno. Pero in due minuti o meno, sara' un treno per San Donato nel sud.

Here, one can transfer to the suburban railway line "Passante" (underground from Porta Verona to Garibaldi but comes up at the terminus Milano Nord Bovisa). At the moment there is no train. Gessate metro station
This is the eastern terminus of the Milano Metro line 2 in Gessate. An M2 train from Milano Famagosta is entering Gessate and will turn around to head back to Famagosta (since 2004 it goes to Abbiategrasso). Between Gessate and Vimodrone, M2 travels on its own right of way, separated at grade. From Cascina Gobba to Cimiano, the stretch is on a viaduct. Milan M1 interiorM1 train in MilanThis is the inside of a M1 train, as seen between Sesto San Giovanni (FS) and Sesto Ronḍ. The M1 and M2 trains are practically identical, except that the M1 uses third rail for its passenger service but can use overhead wires for shunting as necessary. The parking lot of the Gessate Metro station. Gessate is a suburb of Milan, Italy, and is the eastern terminus of the Milano metro line 2. The suburbs of Milan are called the Hinterland in Italian. To get to Gessate, one must purchase a ticket from Milano Cascina Gobba to Gessate. The same thing applies to Cologno Nord and Sesto Marelli / San Giovanni.
