SAD - Italy SAD operates the narrow gauge electrified Rittnerbahn Maria Himmelfahrt - Oberbozen - Klobenstein, on a mountain plateau above Bozen (Bolzano). SAD has recently built a new depot at Oberbozen. Inside is one of the trains used before nrs. 21-24 were bought from Trogenerbahn in Switzerland, and a historic unit from the early days of this line. A historic sign, showing the full tracks of the Rittnerbahn as it was opened in 1907.
The first part of it (between Waltherplatz & St Magdalena) was replaced by a cable car.
Note the wooden pole to hold up the powerlines, they are still in use today
