Tunnel `Trifkovic` (1991m) on valjevo-Loznica line. Valjevo-Loznica line was projected for 120km/h speeds, 25kv 50hz power, 68km lenght. There are 20 tunnels on the line, with 10.175m total lenght which is 15% of line lenght. The longest tunnels are Popare (1991m), Jovanje (1600m), Trifkovic (1719m). There are 69 projected bridges (majority of them are already build), with total lenght of 3.932m. The history of Valjevo - Loznica line (located in north-west Serbia) is veeery intresting. First actions about Valjevo-Loznica (Va-LO) line hapened in 1910`s when some ground work on two tunnels started. All that stoped in 1914, when WW I started. After the war, The kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenians (SHS) could not continue the work since there was no money! Some 18-19 years later, in 1938, the project started again and, again, it was interupted and stopped in 1941 when WW II started. It took 45 years (from 1945 till 1990) to continue the works. A lot of work was finish during the 1990-1992 period. Then came UN sanctions and, for the 3rd time, all work on line was stooped until 1999. (after NATO agresion). In 1999-2000 period, all tunnels and majority of bridges were finished, but all that stooped in 2001 and entire line was conserved for some better future period. The line is compltete, except there are no tracks, catenary, stations and trains - only tunnels and bridges!! For more informations and pictures about Valjevo - Loznica Line, email me.
