• 1228km standard gauge, 603km electrified at 3000V=, 7km at 15kV 16.7Hz and 3km at 25kV 50Hz

AZP manages the Slovenian rail infrastructure. It does not operate its own locomotives or track maintenance trains (these are operated by SZ).
The line Pragersko-Ormoz-Hodos (relation Ljubljana-Budapest, 110km) was upgraded and electrified in recent years, opening in June 2016.

In 2025 SZ transported 20.1 million passengers, 25%(!) more than in 2024. Mainly due to new trains and expanded timetable with more international services.

Adria Transport is the first real private railway in Slovenia, operating mainly open-access freight trains between the port of Koper and Austria. Adria Transport is a subsidiary of the Graz-Köflacher Bahn from Austria.
