Railway Operators in Ukraine
Ukraine has trolleybus systems operating in 47 cities (first launched in Kiev in 1935 and the latest in Kerch in 2004). Tram systems are operating in 24 cities, including 4 with 1000mm gauge (others 1524mm). There are metro systems in Kiev, Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk with another one under construction in Donetsk.

Network length, gauge and electrification (2011):

UZ consists of six railways: Lvivska (Western part of Ukraine), Pivdenno-Zakhidna (Central and Northern part), Odes'ka (Southern part), Pivdenna (North-East part), Donetska (Eastern part) and Prydniprovska (South-East part).
In 2005 UZ transported 444.7 million passengers, producing 52.4 billion passenger-km. Freight traffic amounted 448.7 million tonnes and 223.4 billion tonne-km.
