"Happy Week-End" package

A fully "integrated" package for a really attractive week-end, proposed and organised by "Harzer Schmalspurbahnen" HSB GmbH, the operators of "The Great Little Trains of the Harz"...

Come to us and enjoy the enchanting HSB steam trains, enjoy the superb nature of the National Park Hochharz, the National Park Upper Harz, and the Brocken massif..., and visit the 1000-years-old historical city of Wernigerode.

1st day:

• in the morning, arrival in Wernigerode, the primary tourism centre of Sachsen-Anhalt;
• welcome in your hotel;
• an overview (history and current status) of the narrow gauge railways of the Harz, "The Great Little Trains of the Harz";
• a 2 hours ride with the Harzquerbahn, i.e. the Trans-Harz Railway, and the Brockenbahn, i.e. the Brocken Mountain Railway steam train, up to the Brocken summit, 1142m, the highest mountain in northern Germany: guided nature-walk, breathtaking views, etc...
• back to Wernigerode by train, steam hauled, of course...;
• rustical Harz-night with program and entertainer.

2nd day:

• in the morning, sightseeing-tour to the famous old-town of Wernigerode;
• in the afternoon, departure from Wernigerode

to a detailed map of the steam-operated narrow-gauge railway network of the Harz !

  - 1 night in 1st Class hotel in Wernigerode (double bedroom, with shower, WC, phone, TV + radio),
  - breakfast,
  - free tickets to steam trains and all attractions,
  - entertainer during Harz-night,
  - all tours are guided,

  - transportation to / from Wernigerode (may be organised by HSB)
