CD - Ceske Drahy
Network length, gauge and electrification (2006):
- 9492km standard gauge, 1733km electrified at 3000V=, 1314km at
25kV 50Hz and 24km at 1500V=
- 22km narrow gauge(760mm), not electrified
In 2008 CD Cargo transported 86.2 million tonnes of freight (-5.9%). In
2010 passenger numbers reached 163 million, almost the same as in 2009.
Passenger volume grew by 1.4%.
In the beginning of 2003 former CD was split up in the new CD, only
responsible for management and operation of rail transport. The
infrastructure is now in the hands of SZDC, Sprava Zeleznicni dopravni
cesty. On 1 December 2007 CD Cargo was split off from the operating
company CD. It might merge with ZSSK Cargo from Slovakia.

World Transport
Network length, gauge and electrification (2010):
- standard gauge, not electrified (industrial lines)
Apart from a large network of industrial railways, this company had
taken over the line from Milotice nad Opavou to Vrbno pod Pradedem from
CD. In Summer 2008 OKDD acquired Viamont Cargo, in 2010 Viamont took
over the passenger operations of OKDD. On the 1st of May 2010 OKDD was
renamed into Advanced World Transport.

JHMD -
Jindrichohradecke Mistni Drahy
Network length, gauge and electrification (1998):
- 79km narrow gauge(760mm), not electrified
Since 1997 this company operates all trains on the narrow gauge lines
around Jidrichuv Hradec: Jidrichuv Hradec-Obratan and Jidrichuv
Hradec-Nova Bystrice.

MT - METRANS Rail
Network length, gauge and electrification (2012):
METRANS Rail was founded as Railtransport in 2003 and is based in
Sokolov. It operates
regional trains, charter trains and freight. The plan to start
open-access express passenger trains (planned for 2007) did not
materialize. METRANS increased its stake in the company to 80% in 2011,
becoming the owner of Railtransport.

ODOS - Ostravská dopravní spolecnost, a.s.
Network length, gauge and electrification (2006):
ODOS is an open-access freight operator, that also hires locomotives to
other companies. It is a subsidiary of NH-Trans. The locomotives are
mainly second-hand from Slovakia.

RJ - RegioJet a.s. (Student Agency)
Network length, gauge and electrification (2011):
RegioJet is a subsidiary created by Student Agency for operating open
access passenger trains. For long-distance trains in the Czech Republic
(starting later in 2011) Skoda locomotives have been acquired
second-hand
from FNM in Italy. For services in Slovakia from 12/2011 second-hand
Talent diesel
trainsets from Bombardier will be used.

SD-KD - SD -
Kolejova Doprava
Network length, gauge and electrification (2004):
- standard gauge, electrified at 3000V=
On 1 January 2002 this company has taken over the railway operation of
DNT (23km) which operated trains for the Nastup Tusimice mines near
Kadan and Chomutov. SD is a mining company in Northern Czechia.

Network length, gauge and electrification (2011):

Unipetrol Doprava specialises in railway transport, especially of
chemical products. Unipetrol Doprava is a complex railway company,
offering its clients an extensive services portfolio. Its clients
include the companies from the chemical Orlen Group holding and many
other external customers, such as noted railway delivery companies,
foreign transport companies and chemical factories unaffiliated with
the holding.

Doprava
Network length, gauge and electrification (2004):
- 49km standard gauge, not electrified
Apart from on its own network in the Ostrava area, this company
operates open-access freight trains over SZDC tracks, mainly between
Stramberk and Ostrava-Vitkovice with trains carrying limestone.

Viamont
Network length, gauge and electrification (2010):
- 110km standard gauge, not electrified
This large company operates passenger trains on Sokolov-Kraslice and
Trutnov-Svoboda nad Upou, and heavy freigh trains over many CD lines.
Viamont carried in 2006 the total of 966 965 tonnes of coal, in total
1.4 million tonnes of freight. In 2004 1.04 million passengers
travelled with Viamont.
Since January 2006 Viamont also operates passenger trains on Karlovy
Vary-Marianske Lazne, with Desiro DMUs leased from Vogtlandbahn in
Germany. In December 2006 the line was completely taken over from CD.
In Summer 2008 Viamont Cargo was acquired by its competitor OKDD. In
2010 Viamont took over passenger operation on Milotice nad Opavou to
Vrbno pod Pradedem from OKDD.

ZD - Zeleznice
Desna (Connex Morava)
Network length, gauge and electrification (2004):
- 22km standard gauge, not electrified
This company operates trains on Sumperk-Petrov nad Desnou-Kouty nad
Desnou and Petrov nad Desnou-Sobotín since spring 1998. The service is
actually carried out by SOZ (Stavební Obnova Zeleznic) Bohumin. This
has been taken over on 1 October 2002 by bus operator Connex Morava
a.s.
